The John Pidgeon Speech Award entries are in and the hunt for voice actors begins!

The deadline has closed for the John Pidgeon Speech Prize scripts and already the reaction is this is the strongest year for writing thus far.

The shortlist of plays will enter the production phase and the writers need voice actors – members of CSR and otherwise. These auditions will be held at 11:30-3 on the following days:

11th Feb at CSR Studio Red (University of Kent Campus)
13th Feb at CSR Studio Blue (Canterbury Christ Church University Campus)
15th Feb at The Mandela Building meeting room (University of Kent Campus)

Come along to any part of the session you can.

If you are interested in getting involved in the productions – and be part of work judged and listened to by previous Head of BBC Radio Comedy John Pidgeon and other industry professionals, including seven-time Sony Award winning 6Music presenter Jon Holmes, please email Daryl Smith – speech@csrfm.com

To add – CSR is proud to announce that as part of the speech initiative, award-winning sketch trio Pappy’s will be recording their popular podcast ‘Pappy’s Bangers and Mash’ in our brand new state-of-the-art studio at Canterbury Christ Church University. BBC Radio 4 producer Colin Anderson will also be running a production workshop on the 29th February – and all are invited to attend. To register interest, please email Daryl Smith – speech@csrfm.com. This is open to all CSR members and will be useful for budding producers and creatives.
