CSR welcome Hersden into the studio
To launch CSR’s new ‘School of the Week’ programme, the breakfast teams welcomed Hersden Primary School into the studio to be part of live radio.
Three students joined CSR breakfast every morning 7 – 10am on the week commencing June 6th to play on-air games, say what they love about their school and give presenting travel and introducing songs a try.
Every morning, the students took part in the ‘Space Hopper Challenge’, where the CSR team would commentate live on air a space hopper time race along the corridor. Some presenters invited the guests to get involved in weekly features, such as guessing themes tunes, Vending Machine Battleships and categories.
Mid-week, the CSR Station Manager Ryan Bartrop, Deputy Manager Jeremy Lumb, Head of Speech Daryl Smith, Head of Specialist Shona Eyre and Student Media Co-ordinator Mel Lewis travelled to the school to give an assembly, explaining CSR and what it takes to run a radio station.
Acting Head Jean Kennett said;
“All the children have thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It has boosted their confidence and given them new life experiences”.
