CSR Highly Commended at Kent Union Awards

CSR FM have been highly commended at the annual Kent Union Awards for their participation in the Charity Challenge event.

On Thursday 24th March, CSR joined forces with InQuire – the University of Kent’s student newspaper and transformed campus to raise money for the Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund in Japan.

Presenters and producers on the station put themselves through a number of difficult and entertaining challenges including ‘The Cracker Dash’, ‘Onion Feast’, chat-up line horrors and the usual hair dye and leg waxing incidents.

Student Media was at the forefront of the event and united the campus, inviting sports and societies to take part in the cause. Across UKC, sumo wrestling, cake sales and bovril boat races took place all day, as well as a live broadcast from the plaza on CSR.

Over £2000 was raised for the cause, with £600 of that alone on the CSR Just Giving site.

At the Kent Union Awards, footage taken from the day was shown on a number of occasions to highlight the hard work and dedication from the students and volunteers involved.
