CSR at Keynestock

The biggest Battle of the Bands competition on UKC campus reached its peak on Saturday 28th May, as DeArtOfMusic were crowned winners by a top panel of judges.

CSR were once again present at the festival and provided live coverage across Canterbury on 97.4Fm and worldwide on the internet. Throughout the day, the presenters interviewed artists before and after they had performed, and played out live acoustic sessions recorded earlier on in the week across all the breakfast and drivetime shows.

Roaming mic members of the team scouted for the ‘hotties’ in the crowd, as well as discussing with spectators their verdict on the day and the band they would like to see win the competition.

The prize for Keynestock includes two live performances at Artsfest, and the Kent Union Summerball. In previous years, top musician Ellie Goulding was scouted following her winning set at Keynestock.

Judges included InQuire Newspaper Editor Ed Atkins, CSR’s very own Mel Lewis, Kent Union President Helen Wood and BBC Kent Introducing’s Jack Rikard.

The results were as follows:

1st: DeArtOfMusic
2nd: Tommy and the Guns
3rd: Shatterpoint

CSR were also asked to compere the event. To check out some of the performances across the week leading up to the event, visit our videos page.
